Environmental Benefits of Biodiesel
- Biodiesel will
be able to reduce the CO2 Level siginificantly and with further
development of the Biodiesel and production facilities, Nepal will be able
to walk towards a B20 environment within the next 4years.
- Biodiesel
reduces (on a B5 scenario) the exhaust fumes about 50% compared to the use
of standard Petro Diesel.
- As most of the
vehicles are used within the city limits of Kathmandu, the environmental
benefits regarding health and respiratory issues will increase
siginificantly.
- The majority of
fuel consumption is based in Petro Diesel. Therefore Biodiesel is for the
long term the only viable subsidy to reduce CO2 outputs for transports.
- The plantation
of CO2 reducing plants will additionally have a globally positive impact.
